Understanding the gel compatibility and thermal behavior of alkali activated Class F fly ash/ladle slag: The underlying role of Ca availability

چکیده
The gel compatibility in calcium contained geopolymers remains a controversial topic. This work aims to clarify the role of Ca availability determining geopolymerization alkali-activated ladle slag/Class F fly ash blends. results show that product layer wrapping around slag particles largely governs diffusion into environment, enabling development two separated gels, namely C-(N)-A-(S)-H and N-(C)-A-S-H type gel. A dense matrix consisting geopolymer Ca-enriched is achieved with 8 % Na2O while increasing Ms. intensifies incompatibility between leading microcrack formation lowered mechanical strength. competition different reaction mechanisms gels predominates initial properties thermal performance hybrid binder. degradation model co-existing geopolymeric proposed describe influence on behavior incorporated geopolymer.
